I have been Splash Programme coordinator since Apr 15.  Prior to that I managed the Salamander project for WFRS and prior to that I worked in Adult Social Care at Wiltshire Coucil. Working in a field that has such positive impacts on young people and their families is very satisfying and enjoyable.  Working with a diverse group of clients, partners and colleagues I continue to learn new things everyday and can pass my experiences on to others to continue supporting and helping those that need it the most.

I took up the role of Executive in November 2015. I understand and appreciate the amount of work undertaken by committees and wanted to help support that.

Being involved with the forum is a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow organisations and build relationships and partnerships in order to meet our clients needs across the board.  I really value the forum as a platform to meet others, gather new info and also have a voice in the future of the services we provide.

I work Monday-Thursday 9:30-3:00, Friday 9:00-11:30

Derek Gard  Agency: Wiltshire Wildlife Trust

After 34 years working for a major financial company, finishing in a senior managerial role the time was right to change directions.  On a voluntary basis I had worked with young people and vulnerable adults and had achieved Youth and social work qualifications. With my training and commercial background in my previous employment I  came to work at Wiltshire Wildlife trust to organise/promote their Flagship fundraising event, School visit work. I then organised and ran their Future job Fund placements (80 young people every 6 months for a 6 month period.)

I am currently the Volunteer Manager,(1750 volunteers) managing, Children’s club work, Work experience programme, trainees, apprentices, back to work programme and two community projects, I am also the safeguarding officer for the trust.

Having attended several meetings of the Forum and found how useful it was for networking, information, lobbying and training and with the blessing of  Wiltshire Wildlife Trust wanted to support it further, this was a good opportunity and I could bring another perspective to the Executive with my business background.

The Forum gives a voice to the sector, bringing strength and cooperation. Partnerships through networking has brought benefits to all.

I work Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00

I have been working for 23 years  with children and families in the voluntary and statutory sector.  When the vacancy came up in December 2015, I joined the executive.  I believe that as a voluntary sector we have a lot to offer families, children & young people. The Forum offers the best networking opportunity

I work Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00

My email address is:

Jane Wheeler who is at Wiltshire Scrapstore and Resource Centre

I have worked at the Wiltshire Scrapstore for 13 years. Prior to this I was a primary school teacher.

During my 13 years at the Scrapstore I have worked across Wiltshire with many schools, pre schools, community groups and voluntary organizations, initially running creative workshops using recycled and reusable resources before taking over as Director of the Scrapstore in 2011.

I became involved in the Children and Families Voluntary sector forum when I took over as Director of the Scrapstore.  I felt it was important to be a part of a forum which could be a voice for the voluntary sector, as well as enabling me to keep abreast of changes at a strategic level.

I became a member of the Exec in 2012, I could see how important the work of the Forum was and wanted to be a part of ensuring the forum was valued by the local authority for its important role in representing the voluntary organizations working on the front line with children and families in Wiltshire.

The best thing about the forum is the dissemination of key information from the local authority and government, networking opportunities with other voluntary organizations and the access to training for our own staff and volunteers.

I work Monday–Thursday 9:00-2:30, and Friday and Saturday 9:00-1:00

I have 16 years experience of working with emotional health difficulties in children and young people. I currently manage counselling delivery across Wiltshire in schools and outreach locations. This includes regular contact with statutory agencies as well as voluntary sector.   My Current role is as Business and Operations Manager for Relate Mid Wiltshire.

I started on the Executive Committee in 2011. I wanted to support the development of the forum into an effective voice and a vehicle for charities to get latest information on local authority and national issues affecting us. The Forum provides voluntary agencies with information, support, and gives us a voice.

I work Monday-Friday 8:30-4:00
