Bel Crompton
Independent Chair CFVSF

Bel Crompton

My background experience is working as Head of Service Development in Manchester City Council for 25 years, taking forward Equality and Widening Participation agendas, in order to encourage those furthest from education to participate in learning opportunities. Over the years I have chaired multi agency fora across the statutory and voluntary sectors, NVQ Consortia and schools' governing bodies, as well as internal staff meetings.

My early working life was in the play and childcare fields, before qualifying as a lecturer and delivering these subjects and family learning. For many of those years I was also a military spouse and then mum of a serving soldier. My family moved to Wiltshire in 2007 when I became the Wiltshire Partnership manager for the LSC. Then in 2010 I was appointed Family Support, Charity Manager for Home-Start Kennet.  Committed to ensuring an accessible offer of support to struggling families and raising aspirations for adults and children.  Upon retiring in June 2017, I became a strategy/funding advisor to the Home-Start Kennet board.

This ceased as I was offered the Acting Independent Chair role for the Forum, which was then confirmed by the CFVSF in November 2018.

I have been a member of the CFVSF for 8 years and on your Executive since 2012, standing down and being re-elected as per our TOR.  I am committed to the CFVSF being part of the Wiltshire solution. The forum is for sharing ideas, establishing partnerships, updating our skills and knowledge together and having a shared voice in order to influence Wiltshire strategies and plans.

My email address is: and I look forward to working with you all.
