Children and Families Voluntary Sector Forum
Bi-monthly Forum meetings take place where agencies are able to share information and update themselves on any new policies and procedures relating to working with children, young people and their families. The Forum has an active role in promoting the voice and influence of voluntary sector organisations. Members attend groups held by the Families and Children Transformation Project and Wiltshire Safeguarding Children Board.
There are many benefits of being a member of the Forum such as timely and relevant information shared from the Local Authority, forming working partnerships with other agencies, networking events, bi-monthly meetings, regular newsletters and training opportunities (often free).

Governance of the Children and Families Voluntary Sector Forum
The running of the forum is organised by an Executive Committee which is made up of representatives elected by the forum members. The role of the Executive group and the continuance of the people performing those roles is reviewed bi-annually. The Chair and Administrator are also appointed by the Executive Committee.

Associate Safeguarding Training Advisor
We are pleased to introduce Tony Griffin who will be supporting the forum with our safeguarding training programme.
Tony Griffin is a retired Wiltshire police officer of 31 years experience. He spent 20 years investigating child abuse and neglect, before managing the Child Abuse Investigation Team in Salisbury for five years. He is also qualified to teach adults and went on to lead, develop and deliver the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Children Training Programme for Wiltshire Safeguarding Children Board (WSCB).
Tony has now launched his own independent training programme for all early years, school and voluntary workers in Wiltshire. He can provide CPD accredited courses. His one-day courses include: Foundation Level Child Protection, Advanced level Child Protection and a Child Sexual Exploitation course. He can also provide a half-day Sexualised Behaviours Course and a half day awareness raising course.
The Forum will be inviting members to indicate their training needs in the early part of next year and we will be arranging courses to meet members’ requirements. Organisations can also contact Tony directly to arrange bespoke training courses/training for all of their staff if they wish. More details can be found here.
